CALIFORNIA POPPY EXTRACT is obtained from Eschscholzia californica which acts as a sedative due to having affinity for benzodiazepine receptors. It also eases anxiety, depression, agitation and restlessness. Moreover, it is also effective as an analgesic, uterine stimulant, antispasmodic and antihistamine. It acts as a cognitive enhancer and can be used in the treatment of disorders related to behavior like attention deficit disorder. It is used in elderly patients for improving memory, concentration and intellectual capacity. It is externally applied to alleviate pain in back, headaches, toothache, migraine, neuralgia, sciatica and arthritis. As it has antimicrobial activity, it can be given on cuts to alleviate pain as well as to derease infection risk.
