SORBIC ACID is used as food additive to preserve or improve food nutrients, increase flavor and color, give smooth texture and maintain acid balance. It also controls yeast and mold growth. It is used in dairy products like yogurt and cheese, fish, pickles, prepared salads, meat, dried fruit, jelly, beer as well as baked products like breads, pastries and bagels.
