ACETYLSALICYLIC ACID

Acetyl Salicylic Acid is used in relieving pain in myalgia, in symptoms associated with nonrheumatic inflammatory disorders like capsulitis, athletic injuries, tenosynovitis, and bursitis. It is also effective in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and also juvenile arthritis. It acts in reducing fever and gives its anti platelet action by inhibiting thromboxane production which in turn helps to prevent strokes, blood clot formation, heart attacks, transient brain ischemia caused by platelet emboli. Moreover, acetyl salicylic acid is also used in veterinary medicine for the treatment of relieving pain from mild to moderate in animals with musculoskeletal inflammation and osteoarthritis. It is used in horses to treat laminitis.
