ADENOSINE-5-PHOSPHATE
Adenosine 5′ Monophosphate, abbreviated as AMP is a nucleotide of RNA. It has a phosphate group, ribose sugar and adenine base. It is widely used as a dietary supplement to strengthen immune activity and in the low calorie food where it acts as a substitute sweetener. It is used in the treatment of herpes zoster, porphyria cutanea tarda, kidney failure, cystic fibrosis, maintaining blood pressure in lungarteries and during anesthesia. It is given intramuscularly to treat varicose veins, tendonitis, neuropathy, bursitis, multiple sclerosis.
