ALBENDAZOLE
Albendazole is a carbamate of benzimidazole which is used to treat gastrointestinal roundworms, tapeworms and also lungworms infestations. It is not only effective in nematode infections like necator, trichuris, ancylostoma, ascaris, enterobius, neurocysticercosis but also useful against systemic nematodes like Gnathostoma spinigerum, Angiostrongylus cantonensis, Echinococcus granulosus, Gnathostoma spinigerum and Echinococcus multilocularis. It is also used in veterinary medicine where it acts as an anthelmintic against endoparasites in cattle.
