ATRACTYLODIS Extract 8-1 is acquired from a plant naming, Atractylodis Macrocephalae which has been serving many therapeutic purposes over many years and is a popular Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is most commonly used in diarrhea, stomachache, indigestion, bloating, fluid retention, dust allergies, anorexia. It contains essential oils which give antiulcer and anti-inflammatory action. It is also helpful in cancer associated weight loss and rheumatism. Moreover, Atractylodis Macrocephalae in conjunction with other herbs of Traditional Chinese Medicine is used against dialysis complications, lung cancer. It imparts its antioxidant action by chelating with metal and give radical scavenging activity by donating electron and hydrogen atom which in turn inhibits and prevents lipid peroxidation helping cells from getting damaged.
