BLACK HOREHOUND EXTRACT 4-1

BLACK HOREHOUND EXTRACT 4-1 is obtained from the plant Ballota nigra. It possesses neurosedative property due to the presence of four phenylpropanoid glycosides naming, verbascoside, forsythoside B, arenarioside, ballotetroside which bind to benzodiazepine, morphinic and dopaminergic receptors to impart this action. It is an effective antioxidant which has strong ability in scavenging reactive oxygen species. Moreover, it also contains flavonoids, terpenes and phenols which act against bacteria, leishmania and fungi and this in turn gives the antimicrobial and antiprotozoal activities.
