CETYL PYRIDIUM CHLORIDE
CETYL PYRIDIUM CHLORIDE is used as a local anti-infective which is a surface active foaming agent and also has antiseptic property which led its use against nonsporulating bacteria. It is used in preoperative skin preparations due to its prophylactic antisepsis and is also used in mouthwashes. It acts as bactericidal or bacteriostatic and also has activity against some fungi. It is used in the prevention and treatment of mouth, throat inflammation and irritation. It is also used in veterinary medicine due to its antiseptic and antifungal properties.
