L-GLUTAMIC ACID is a non essential amino acid which is a component of protein. It acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter of central nervous system and influences thalamus, spinal cord, basal ganglia and brain stem. It has impacts on NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptor which regulates the amount of calcium, magnesium and sodium ions.
