MAGNESIUM GLUCONATE is used in the prevention and treatment of low level of blood magnesium. Magnesium deficiency is usually caused by prolonged vomiting, gastrointestinal disorders, kidney disease, diarrhea, certain drugs and other conditions. Magnesium plays vital role in muscle contraction, energy production, building of protein, bone as well as tooth formation and calcium assimilation. It is essential for metabolism of glucose, blood clotting and protein, fat and nucleic acid synthesis. It is used as supplement against magnesium deficiency. It also acts as a laxative by increasing the amount of water in intestines.
