MEBENDAZOLE
MEBENDAZOLE an antinematodal agent that works against tichuriasis caused by whipworm, multiple intestinal roundworm infections, alveolar hydatid disease caused by Echinococcus multilocularis, gnathostomiasis caused by Gnathostoma spinigerum, capillariasis caused by Capillaria phillippinensis and enterobiasis by pinworm. It is also used to treat trichinosis caused by pork worm. It is used in conjunction with corticosteroids to reduce inflammatory reactions to Trichinella larvae. It is also as veterinary medicine where it acts as anthelmintic in cats.
