MEDROXYPROGESTERONE ACETATE is a form of progesterone that is used in the treatment of irregular menstrual periods and also abnormal type uterine bleeding. It reduces the risk of having endometrial hyperplasia which may lead to uterine cancer. It is also useful to prevent overgrowth in the uterus lining in postmenopausal women taking estrogen hormone replacement therapy.
