METOPROLOL TARTRATE is used in the treatment of hypertension and this is in turn prevents heart attacks as well as kidney complaints. It is also used to treat angina and survival after attack. It is a beta blocker that acts by blocking epinephrine on heart and blood vessels. It is also useful for preventing migraine headache, treating heart failure and tremors. It may be used against irregular heartbeats.
