NORFLOXACIN

NORFLOXACIN is an antibacterial agent that is used to treat prostatitis by E. coli. It is also effective to treat complicated urinary tract infections caused by K. pneumoniae, Ps. aeruginosa, E. coli, E. faecalis and S. marcescens. Moreover, it is also used in the treatment of uncomplicated gonorrhea and urinary tract infections, epididymitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, shigellosis. It is used in veterinary medicine where it acts as intestinal antibacterial in turkeys, swine, mink & dogs, coccidiostat in chickens, topical antibacterial on wounds and prophylactic as well as therapeutic agent in swine against staphylococci species. It is also used to treat bacterial ear infections in dogs and genital tract infections in swine.
