POTASSIUM DIHYDROGEN PHOSPHATE is a salt that is used in the treatment of severe to moderate hypophosphataemia which is characterized by paraesthesia, muscle weakness, convulsions, respiratory failure, haematological abnormalities and cardiomyopathy. It provides potassium as well as phosphate anions. Phosphate is essential for bone structure, metabolic and enzymatic pathways and acts in storage as well as transfer of energy. On the other hand, potassium helps the functioning of cells, heart, kidneys, nerves and muscles.
