PROGESTERONE is a female hormone that is important for regulating ovulation and also menstruation. It is used to cause menstrual periods in women who are lacking progesterone. It is also used in the prevention of uterus lining growth in postmenopausal women having estrogen hormone replacement therapy. It is effective against hyperplasia in postmenopausal women and is used to treat secondary amenorrhea.
